Learners and parents

Learning to drive, taught properly.

One instructor, start to finish. Nobody gets handed to whoever happens to be free that week.

The rate

£50 an hour, and here is why.

Learner tuition is held at £50 an hour. That is deliberately below my professional training rate, because teaching learners is what keeps my training credible. It is part of my practice, not a sideline.

It is also above what most instructors locally charge, and I would rather say that plainly than have you find out later. You are paying for one instructor who teaches you personally, keeps proper records, tells you the truth, and trains other instructors for a living.

What you get

Structure you can see

Every session ends with what went well, what did not, and what we are working on next time — written down, so progress is a record rather than a feeling. Theory support through Theory Test Pro. Real‑world routes, not test routes.

What you will not get

A promise about your test

No guaranteed pass. No number of lessons quoted before I have seen you drive — anyone who does that is guessing. After an assessment drive you get a realistic estimate, updated honestly as we go.

For parents

The test is not the dangerous part.

The first year of driving alone is. That is where the real risk sits, and it is the part most people are left to work out for themselves.

Two things make a measurable difference: practice that is structured rather than random, and someone still involved after the test. If you are supervising private practice, ask me how to do it well — it is easy to teach habits that then have to be untaught, and a short conversation prevents most of it.

How I teach

You drive. I ask.

Being told what to do produces drivers who need telling. Being asked the right question produces drivers who can think for themselves at a junction I am not sitting at.

Nerves are a skills problem, not a character flaw. Nobody is a "bad driver" — people are under‑taught, rushed, or were never shown the one thing that made it click. That is fixable, and it is most of what I do.

Next step

Tell me what you are trying to solve.

Not "book a lesson" — just tell me where you are up to. I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person, what it would involve and what it would cost.
